Dollars For Scholars Golf

Dollars for Scholars is truly a grassroots effort. Dale Hoffa and members of The Masonic Lodge of Stuart, Acacia #163 gave birth to the concept of a locally funded scholarship initiative.
Seeing a need for a dedicated effort, they found the perfect partner in Dollars for Scholars, a fledgling foundation headquartered in New England, which has since moved to St. Peter, MN. The national organization offered a guiding umbrella, but let local leaders set their own direction and keep the dollars they raise to benefit their own Martin County local scholars.
Through hard work, dedication and, most importantly, a very generous community, Dollars for Scholars of Martin County has grown into one of the largest chapters in the country, supporting over 150 students each year.
It is the mission of Dollars for Scholars to offer hope, encouragement, and scholarship opportunities to Martin County students with financial need who demonstrate the desire and academic ability to succeed in pursuing a post-secondary education.

Wright By the Sea Resort
At Wright by the Sea there is plenty of space to spread out and have fun with the family on our private beach, while others prefer lounging by our heated pool. Our ocean observation deck is a perfect place for a cup of coffee while you watch the sunrise as well as the evenings moonrise. There are plenty of palm-shaded nooks as well, where you can sit with a book on a warm summer day.
The gulfstream is only 3 miles out from the shore line; keeping us cool in the summer and warm in the winter. With an average winter surf temperature of 74 degrees and a gradually sloping bottom contour. The ocean in front of Wright by the Sea is perfectly suited for swimming, and body surfing.

Birdies for Bracelets” Golf Tournament a Swinging Success
Funds Raised Directly Benefit St. Lucie County Alzheimer’s Patients
In photo: Coni Tabor-Gorman with her brother, Jim Stables
Fort Pierce –- St. Lucie County Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers were the big winners at the “Birdies for Bracelets” Golf Tournament. Organized by the Pilot Club of Fort Pierce in partnership with Alzheimer’s Community Care and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, the “Birdies for Bracelets” Golf Tournament raised nearly $5,000 to benefit the St. Lucie County Locator ID Bracelet Program. As a result of this successful fundraiser, additional Locator ID Bracelets and batteries will be supplied free of charge to St. Lucie County families for their loved ones who are living with Alzheimer’s disease.
An estimated 9,100 people in St. Lucie County have Alzheimer’s disease and 60% of these people will wander at some point during the disease progression. The Sheriff’s Department can locate a person wearing one of these bracelets within minutes of receiving a report. Because statistics show that 46% of wanderers will die if they’re not found within 24 hours, the Locator ID Bracelet is an essential safety device to assist caregivers in ensuring their loved ones’ safety.
To help bring the lifesaving Locator ID Bracelet to more St. Lucie County families, please contact The Pilot Club at 772-971-8470. For more information about the services and resources provided by Alzheimer’s Community Care, please call 772-223-6351 or visit www.alzcare.org.

In photo: This is the reason we play golf
Palm City -- United Way’s work is focused on the building blocks for a good life: Quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.
United Way’s goal is to advance the common good and create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems.
Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy.
We encourage all people in the community to live the United Way. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future.

2011 United Way Golf Outing

Piper’s Landing is a Florida Gated Golf Community in Palm City, part of Stuart Florida and Martin County and it comes complete with a clubhouse capable of hosting any function imaginable, a newly re-designed Gene Bates golf course, tennis programs that include new lighted facilities considered to be the best in Martin County and a marina recognized as one of the safest and most accessible on Florida's east coast. But what you’ll find at Piper’s, in addition to these facilities, is friendships! Piper’s Landing Yacht & Country Club

Eagle Marsh Hosts Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2010 Golf Outing

In photo: The Women were well represented in this year's event
Stuart – A Tommy Fazio Masterpiece, Eagle Marsh Golf Club is the premier destination for a golfing experience in South Florida. Its solid reputation for overall conditioning, unparalleled greens, and host of challenging holes makes it a truly memorable experience.
The shape of the course will remind golfers of one of the more exclusive private clubs that they may have played in the past. Our members and guests will testify to this hefty statement.
With five sets of tees Eagle Marsh is a real challenge for the experienced golfer and player friendly from the forward tees.
Eagle Marsh Golf Club is the perfect choice when visiting South Florida on family vacations. Located in Jensen Beach, the heart of the Treasure Coast, where you'll find an abundance of things to do for people of all ages.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk is a two-mile twilight walk during which participants carry illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by blood cancers.
Supporters carry red balloons, patients and survivors carry white balloons and gold balloons are carried by teams commemorating lives lost to cancer. Together we "Light The Night" and truly brighten the future for millions of patients and their families.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. LLS's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since the first funding in 1954, LLS has awarded more than $680 million in research funding.
