Paul Anka February 21st

At the Sunrise Theater, Ft. Pierce

Paul Anka, one of the greatest songwriters in history, will be making his first appearance at the Sunrise Theatre in February, 2012. Don't miss this unique opportunity to witness the extraordinary talent who has been delighting audiences around the world for 40 years.

Raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Paul Anka started writing songs at an early age, but it was a trip to New York that was to change his life forever when he wrote a song called "Diana" for a girl he knew. This song launched his career as an international teen idol at the age of sixteen and sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

By the time Anka was 18, he had five Top-20 hits and had secured himself a distinguished musical niche of romance. Who can forget his famous hits "Put Your Head on My Shoulder", "You Are My Destiny", "Lonely Boy" and "Puppy Love"... performed by some of the greatest names in the entertainment industry including Sinatra, Presley, Barbara Streisand, Buddy Holly, Tom Jones, etc..

Besides writing well-known pieces of music for TV and film, Anka topped the charts in the 70s with hits: "(You're) Having My Baby", "I Don't Like To Sleep Alone" and "One-Man Woman". Of course, Anka is probably best known for his song "My Way" which topped the charts by Frank Sinatra and later by Elvis Presley; and unknown to many, Anka co-wrote Michael Jackson's posthumous #1 worldwide hit, "This Is It", further cementing his place in history as one of the most prolific and versatile songwriters of any generation.

The National Touring Company of Monty Python's Spamalot February 23rd

At the Sunrise Theater, Ft Pierce

Lovingly "ripped-off" from the internationally famous comedy team's most popular motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Spamalot is the winner of three 2005 Tony® Awards including Best Musical and Best Director (Mike Nichols), as well as the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Best Musical.

The original cast recording of Monty Python's Spamalot won the 2006 GRAMMY® Award for Best Musical Show Album.

Based on the Tony® Award winning direction of Mike Nichols and the riotous choreography of Casey Nicholaw, Monty Python's Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur's quest to find the Holy Grail. However, diverting a bit from the true story, this hilarious musical features a line of beautiful dancing girls, a flatulent Frenchman, killer rabbits and one legless knight. And outside there is plague with a fifty percent chance of pestilence and famine.

John Lennon's Imagined: The Nu-Utopians February 23th

At the Sunrise Theater, Ft Pierce

One of the most unique and compelling interpretations of the late John Lennon's compositions comes from The Nu-Utopians (formerly The John Lennon Song Project), a 7 piece ensemble created and led by Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step and Tom Dean of Devonsquare. Together they have produced a thoughtfully re-imagined tribute that celebrates the genius and artistry of the icon's music.

The show features entertaining storytelling, and like the band's CD Imagined, superb lead singing and 3-part harmonies, plus a host of talented musicians on acoustic, electric and bass guitars, cello, violin, mandola, accordion, chromatic harmonica and light percussion. In a series of singles and mini-medleys, the band's arrangements frequently involve weaving melody, lyric and song together in new and unexpected ways.

Imagined recently won the Independent Music People's Choice Award for Best Tribute Album of 2010, and the band is currently recording their second album, much of which is featured in the show.

 38 Special February 25th

At the Sunrise Theater, Ft. Pierce

After more than three decades together, 38 SPECIAL continue to bring their signature blast of Southern Rock to over 100 cities a year. And at each and every show, thousands of audience members are amazed by the explosive power of the band's performance.

With sales in excess of 20 million, most associate the band with their arena-rock pop smashes, "Hold On Loosely," "Rockin' Into the Night," "Caught Up in You," "Fantasy Girl," "If I'd Been the One," "Back Where You Belong," "Chain Lightnin'," "Second Chance," and more – Timeless hits that remain a staple at radio, immediately recognizable from the first opening chord, and paving the way to their present-day touring regimen.

The co-founders of the group, vocalist Donnie Van Zant and guitarist/vocalist Don Barnes, say it's all about maintaining that intensity in their live shows. Barnes says, "We never wanted to be one of those bands that had maybe gotten a little soft or complacent over the years. We're a team, and it's always been kind of an unspoken rule that we don't slack up, we stack up. We go out there every night to win." It is that steely determination that lives on in the hearts of these 'Wild-Eyed Southern Boys.'

Lily Tomlin March 3rd & March 4th

At the Lyric Theater, Stuart

When Lily Tomlin takes the stage, we hesitate to call it a “one-woman show.”  Her performances feature many of the personalities that this incredible entertainer has created for stage and screen, including Ernestine, the irascible telephone operator, and Edith Ann -- both from “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In” -- Tommy Velour, Madame Lupe (the world’s oldest living beauty expert) and a host of characters from her Broadway show “The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe.”

Tomlin – actress, comedienne and a veritable force of nature – has performed in television, theater, films, animation and video, and achieved remarkable success in all of them.  A household name for over six decades, she continues to amuse, entertain and ultimately leave us with much food for thought.  Tomlin quickly sold out the house when she appeared at the Lyric in 2010

Chris's show is not an overdone impersonation. It is a natural heartfelt tribute to the King of Rock-n-Roll. Adding to the authenticity of his tribute, Chris has the honor of being the only tribute artist hired by Elvis Presley Enterprises to perform at Graceland's Heartbreak Hotel for 7 consecutive years. An energetic and experienced entertainer, MacDonald has also starred in the famous LEGENDS IN CONCERT stage productions in such cities as Branson, MO, and Las Vegas, NV. He has also performed in Concert with Elvis Presley's original back up group The Jordanaires and D.J. Fontana at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
